Campbell police confiscate marijuana plants

CAMPBELL

Police confiscated three marijuana plants growing in a Hyatt Avenue garage on Thursday, and charged their owner with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, as well as the illegal manufacture of drugs.

At 3 p.m. Thursday, police reported to the Hyatt Avenue residence of Paul D. Melnik, 53, to execute a warrant. Though officers knocked on the door, Melnik did not respond. Police then checked the garage to see if Melnik’s car was inside, and spotted three marijuana plants.

After seizing the plants, police received a call from Melnik, who said he’d come down to the police station when he finished his daily errands.
