The Austintown Colts took on the Struthers Little Wildcats Sept. 8 at Fitch High School. It was a clean sweep for the Colts. The 100 pound team’s offense dominated the game early with multiple touchdowns by Dominic Perry and Javonte Betts, while Samuel Bister, Jayden Eley and Xavier Amireh took control the defense, leaving a final score of 26-6 for the Colts.
The Colts 120 pound team had their third shutout of the season with a final score of 22-0 against the Wildcats. The teams offense, including KyRee Long, Shakir Perkins, Devin and Devon Winford each drove the field for touchdowns and extra points, while stands outs Brian Long, Carl Farina, Bryan Bellish and Colin Roberts controlled the Wildcats defensively.
The Colts 140 pound team had their first victory of the season against Struthers with a score of 38-8. Both offense and defense stepped up to dominate the Cats. Offensively, Cole Tidswell, Lorenzo Russo, Dyllen Gibbs and AJ Winterburn scored six touchdowns, while Dakota Edwards, Bryce Davis and Jabob Granger had a stellar game on defense. The Colts will travel to Howland High School to take on the Little Tigers on Sept. 14.
