FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

TODAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. For takeouts or to order ahead call the church at 330-743-3175.

THURSDAY

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). Dinners consist of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $6. Drive up to the door, and a volunteer will bring the meal to your car.

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will sell beef tips and noodles dinners to go from 3 p.m. until sold out. No need to get out of your car. Dinners will cost $8. The meals include green beans, a roll and a piece of cake. To order ahead call 330-792-1578.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve the following meals from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday: all-you-can-eat fried fish with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; chicken with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; or shrimp with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage. Each meal is $8.50 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and free for those 3 and under. A fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw is $5.50. For carryouts call 330 654-5630. Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10. Takeout is available. Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu consists of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available at 11 a.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; no containers are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-in orders are welcome. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

SATURDAY

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Fowler, will serve a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Menu consists of chicken pie, potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12, preschool eats free. Takeouts are available. Call 330-638-5189.

SUNDAY

Protestant Family Services will sponsor a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, next to Burlington Coat Factory. Donations are $7 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. Carryout will be available.

TUESDAY

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will be selling ham loaves Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. until sold out. The loaves are sold in packages of 6 for $12. There will be no preorders.

First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, will serve a drive-through ham dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The meal consists of baked sliced ham, redskin parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce and a brownie. Cost is $7. There is no need to get out of your car; just follow the signs on Pittsburgh Street. For Columbiana shut-in delivery call 330-482-2382 before noon Monday or Tuesday.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will sell 15-inch homemade pepperoni rolls, potato soup, chicken noodle soup and fresh baked bread Sept. 21. Pepperoni rolls are $7 each, soup is $5 per quart and $3 per pint, and bread is $1.50 per loaf. Order by Sept. 19 by calling 330-647-7515. Pickup will be at the church between 3 and 4:30 p.m.

UPCOMING

Pricetown Methodist Church, 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, Newton Falls, will offer a meatloaf dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18. The meal will include mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, roll, homemade dessert and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 12; children 5 and under eat free. Carryout will be available.

A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesday. Please submit information for takeout and sit-down dinners to the Society Department before noon Monday.
