Health care seminar
The Core Team of Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., is offering a health care seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16.
Representatives from the Area Agency on Aging, Atty. W. David Keast, Breast Cancer Center and Senior Security Insurance Partners will present information on health care options, programs for senior citizens, health care laws, estate planning, wills and living wills, durable power of attorney and nursing home information.

UPMC Horizon is offering free prostate screenings from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at UPMC Cancer Center, UPMC Horizon, 2200 Memorial Drive. Screenings will be conducted by a physician and will include a PSA blood draw and a digital rectal exam. Registration is required. Call 724-983-7570.
A family medicine specialist, Dr. John Schinner, has joined the Liberty Family Medicine Center, 1488 West Liberty St. The center is affiliated with Sharon Regional Health System.
Dr. Schinner, who provides care for infants, children, adolescents, adults and seniors, com- pleted a family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngs-town and is board eligible through the American Board of Family Physicians. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.

The Alzheimer Network Caregiver Series will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 15 and 22.
The training is free, but reservations are required. Call the Alzheimer Network at 330-788-9755. It is not necessary to attend all sessions. The site will be determined by the location of the registrants.
The subjects are: Session I - “Symptoms, Diagnosis, Behaviors, Medications;” Session II - “Legal /Financial Issues, Community Services to Help;” and Session III - “Safety Concerns, Learning to Cope.”
The Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, the National Alliance on Mental lllness and Newton Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3332 are sponsoring Trumbull County’s 11th Crisis lntervention Team (CIT) training for law- enforcement agencies Oct. 2, 3, 10 and 11.
The training is at the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, 4076 Youngstown Road S.E. Role playing and graduation ceremonies will be Oct. 11 at W.D. Packard Music Hall in Warren.
Crisis Intervention Team programs are local initiatives designed to improve the way law enforcement and the community respond to people experiencing mental health crises. More than 130 police and corrections officers from 24 jurisdictions have completed CIT training in Trumbull County since 2006.
