Airport support group gets nonprofit status

VIENNA

YNGAir Partners, formed to help the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport acquire additional airline service for the Mahoning Valley, has received a 501(c)(3) designation for nonprofit charitable purposes.

The designation enables YNGAir Partners to solicit tax-exempt donations and foundation grants to sustain organization operations and expenses and host events and efforts for airlines and prospective businesses interested in the airport and Western Reserve Port Authority, said Jim Pirko, YNGAir president.

YNGAir Partners provides community-based support for the regional airport and the adjacent Youngstown Air Reserve Station. It is acting on behalf of the community to bring daily flights back to the airport, supporting the current infrastructure and airlines currently serving the airport, and helping the airport in getting donations and grants.
