SALEM — The Salem Police Department is investigating the deaths of two people after receiving 911 calls from the store at 2:40 this morning.

According to a police statement on the department's Facebook page, when officers arrived, they found "a deceased female and male in the southeast parking lot of the store."

Police said a Ruger 9mm semi-automatic handgun was found near the male.

"Several witnesses have been interviewed and store security video is being analyzed," police said in the statement.

Detectives Dave Talbert and Brad Davis are investigating the incident.

The 24-hour store was closed briefly while police investigated and has since reopened.

Obviously both of your comments indicate the intelligence. Their are family members mourning the loss of their daughter, mother, aunt, sister and cousin. A young lady earning a living to support her young daughter. Show some respect for the victim and her family. Her life taken prematurely. Thank you

I agree that these statements are stupid with no thought of lives lost. Judging by what I read here it appears to be a murder suicide.
