Rev. Dr. Frank Hearns retiring

The Rev. Dr. Frank L. Hearns is retiring after 23 years of service as pastor of Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave., and 39 years pastoring churches in Delaware, Columbus and Akron.

He has preached for 47 years.

The Rev. Dr. Hearns will be honored at a retirement banquet at 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at McMenamy’s Banquet Center, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles.

Tickets are $40 per person and may be obtained at Second Baptist Church office.

Dr. Hearns received a bachelor’s degree in theology from Trinity Bible College in Newburgh, Ind., and a master’s in sacred literature from Trinity.

He earned a doctorate of theology from Andersonville Bible Seminary College in Camilla, Ga.

He established the school of religion at Second Baptist Church that held classes during the week.

In Warren, he has served on various civic committees and is currently a member of the Warren Civil Service Commission Board.

He is an instructor at the WHW Espository Teaching in Los Angles.

He is a past moderator of Northern Ohio Baptist District Association Inc. and past president of Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.

He organized a community choir.

Dr. Hearns and his wife, Yvonne, are parents of three grandhildren and also are grandparents.
