Rally day planned
Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., will celebrate “back to church” Sunday with a Rally Day this weekend. Worship services are at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. There will be a ministry fair and pancake breakfast to benefit the Youth Activity Fund.
The church will begin a new sports-themed worship series called “Teams …” Participants may wear team gear.
Children going into the third grade will receive Bibles as a gift from the church.

Classes at church
Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., is offering dinner and classes on Thursdays, starting next week through Nov. 21. The dinner is at 5:45 p.m.; cost is $6. Classes are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to all.
Sessions are: hands-on class to make Baby Sea Bags for the USO; a discussion class based on “Aspects of the Heart: The Many Paths of a Good Life” by Sister Joan Chittester facilitated by Bob Green; discussion of the book “The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die” by John Izzo led by Michael Gianoutsos and Jack Gysegem; and a Bible Study of “The Parables of Jesus” led by Aleta Hostetler.

Prayer at Unity
Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Raod, will participate in Unity World Day of Prayer, which is celebrating its 20th year with the theme, “Living Well: Nurturing Mind, Body and Spirit.” Cay Tomerlin, a licensed Unity teacher, is coordinator.
“Elemental Walks,” walking meditations, will take place between 7 and 8 p.m. Monday on center grounds. The healing arts ministry will conduct a prayer session from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday followed by a lecture on “Diet and Spirituality” by Evelyn Wise. Donations will be accepted. A guided meditation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Unity World Day of Prayer will be observed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday concluding with an energy healing circle with Nicole Niewoehner. Drumming will be from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Friday with Pam and Dan Susany of the Youngstown group Bewelldrumon. Drums will be provided or bring your own.
“Help and Healing on the Spiritual Path Through the Teachings of Bruno Groening” will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 S. Broad St. The session will take place at, but is not affiliated with, the church.
The free 90-minute lecture is sponsored by the Circle for Spiritual Aid to Life, based on the teachings of Groening, a German healer and teacher.

The Rev. Robbin Del Nagro will be installed as executive director of Mahoning Valley Association of Churches at 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. The Rev. Nick Mager of First Presbyterian Church will preach, and choirs of Elizabeth Baptist Church and St. John’s will sing.
A reception will follow.
