National Back to Church Sunday will be celebrated Sept. 15 at First Baptist Church of Hubbard, 59 Orchard Ave., at its 10:15 a.m. service. Child care is available. For information, call the church office at 330-534-5344.

This national movement began in 2009 as an initiative to “Invite America Back to Church.”

Men’s breakfast

A men’s breakfast is planned at 8 a.m. today at Northside Community Church, 702 Orchard Grove Ave.

Presenters will be Bill Crawford from “Team MoJo,” Bobby Headley on “Youth With a Purpose,” Walter “Bing” Newton from Rally in the Valley and Mike Neese of Men of Faith Prayer Warriors.

Donations of canned goods will go to The Center in Midland, Pa.

Concert at church


The Keelings will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Bible Church, 2878 Warren Meadvile Road.

A nursery will be provided. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Rally Day planned

First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., will begin its fall season on Rally Day on Sunday. The day will begin at 9:15 a.m. with a light breakfast and Bounce Around, bingo, cotton candy and snow cones.

Worship will be at 10:30 a.m., followed by a light lunch and activities.

At Canfield church


Dan Schomer of Eastminster Presbytery will present “The Art of Storytelling” at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St. The church will host a Remembrance Day at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Participants may contribute to a pot-luck dinner at 5:30 p.m. There will be a prayer walk in the community to various locations. Personal testimonies will close the program.

Prayer room


The Community Prayer Room, 279 W. Market St., will host a grand opening at 10 a.m. Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house until 2 p.m.

This project is part of Trumbull County Prayer Movement. Many local businesses have contributed volunteer labor to the effort. Vincent Stigliano is prayer room coordinator.

Service for teachers


Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Road, will dedicate a portion of worship services at 8 and 11 a.m. Sunday to bless and pray for all teachers for a safe and successful school year. Teachers of every scholastic and vocational level are invited. Senior Pastor David L. Thomas recently authored the book “A Teacher Gift.” For information, visit

Society chapter


Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown-Warren Chapter, will present “Looking for God in Popular Culture” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 401 12th St., with speaker Metropolitan Savas of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh. Licensing ceremony


Restoration Christian Fellowship, 151 Folsom Drive, will conduct a ministry licensing ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Hosts are the Rev. Joseph E. Walker Jr. and Elder Kimberly D. Walker.
