Warren police looking for man who tried to entice girl, boy

Published: Fri, September 6, 2013 @ 8:40 p.m.

WARREN — A 12-year-old girl called 911 at 6:40 p.m. Thursday to report that an unidentified man in a pickup truck tried to entice her and her 5-year-old brother into his vehicle at the intersection of Ward Street and Ohio Avenue Northwest.

The children ran home and called 911, police said.

A similar incident was reported Aug. 24 on Belmont Street Northeast, but police do not believe the same person was involved in both because the descriptions of the males are different.

In the Belmont Street incident, a man 50 to 60 years old with white hair in a red and silver/beige truck asked a 5-year-old girl to “come here.”

The girl, who was in her front yard, reported the incident to her mother, who saw the truck pull away.
