Youngstown mom charged with child endangering

Staff report

A city woman was scheduled for arraignment today in Youngstown Municipal Court on felony child- endangering charges after her 3-year-old daughter followed her 8-year-old daughter to school.

Police were called to Paul C. Bunn Elementary School, 1825 Sequoya Drive, where a bus driver had taken the child who had followed her older sister to the bus stop, reports said.

Police also were looking for the missing daughter of 23-year-old Reba Soldressen, who told officers she left her 3-year-old in the living room and baby asleep in a crib while she went to fill out a job application. She said she thought she would only be gone for 10 minutes, reports said.

A Mahoning County sheriff’s deputy working school security brought the child to the mother, who was frantic looking for her daughter, reports said.

The children were given to their grandparents, who were to take them until the father got home from work, reports said.

Soldressen was taken to the county jail. The school district did not return a request for comment.
