Volleyball defeats Hubbard

The Canfield girls volleyball team defeated Hubbard 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 21-25, 25-14). Top performers for Canfield were Emma Hartshorn with 21 kills, Janie Rafoth with 30 assists, Rachel Rafoth with 43 digs and Darby Hepola with six blocks.

Girls golf beats Howland

The Canfield girls golf team defeated Howland 156-184 Aug. 29. Top players were Christina Cooper (37), Kerra Loomis (37), Michele Whiteleather (39) and Kaci Carpenter (43).

Boys soccer defeats Salem

The Canfield boys soccer team defeated Salem 4-0. Canfield made 34 shots on goal. Single goals were scored by Brady Clark and Jonah Ghossain, while two were made by Ronnie Mangie. Trevor English, Jonah Ghossain and Christian Hume each had assists. Junior varsity won 2-0 over Salem.

Boys golf defeats Fitch

The Canfield boys golf team defeated Austintown Fitch 163-174. Top players for Canfield were Dom Carano (36), Vince Leone (42), Isaiah Pouliot (42) and Jaret Vrabel (43).

Girls soccer beats Poland

With 26 shots on goal the Canfield girls varsity soccer team bested Poland in their first home game 10-0 Aug. 28. The night’s Cardinal goal scorers were Bailey Fisher with a hat trick, two goals for Paige Bidinotto and Elena Billy, while Haley Klacik, Sophia Mancini and Cheyenne Story had one goal each. Single assists were contributed by Story, McGraw, Mancini and Fisher. Bidinotto tallied two and Klacik had three. Senior goal keeper Villano had three saves and Abel had one.

Girls golf places eighth

The Canfield girls golf team participated in the Midwest Classic, hosted by N. Canton Hoover, on Aug. 24 at Skyland Pines Golf Course in Alliance. The Cardinals placed eighth out of 15 teams with a score of 340. Top performers for Canfield were Christina Cooper (78), Michele Whiteleather (82), Kerra Loomis (85) and Olivia DeMartino (95).

Reserved seats on sale

Canfield High School football reserved seat season tickets went on sale to the general public Aug. 19 from the high school athletic office. The cost is $48. Office hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays. Call 330-533-5341 for more information.
