30 Mile Meal to get help from fundraiser
The 30 Mile Meal Project will benefit from A Sweet Night Out, a fundraiser planned for 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Grand Ballroom at Stambaugh Auditorium. Tickets cost $25, on sale beginning Thursday. Call the Stambaugh Auditorium box office at 330-259-0555, or buy online at Stambaughauditorium.com.
The dessert-tasting fundraiser will celebrate the marriage of local farmers, producers and restaurants. Cookies and desserts from a variety of local bakers will be paired with wine tastings supplied by area wineries.

SCORE presents scholarships at lunch
Youngstown SCORE Chapter 112, a free mentoring service for entrepreneurs on the campus of Youngstown State University, presented two scholarships to YSU students at their small-business success luncheon July 31 at Youngstown Country Club.
Recipients were Eric Walters and Rachel Milhoan, who each received $1,000. They are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in business. Five businesses also were honored for their success: Marta Mazur of Krakus Polish Deli and Bakery, Katie Burkey of Molly Maids, Nicholas Uroseva of Michael Charles Premiere Wine and Beers, Marlene Bassil of The Pita Wrap, and Linda and Nicole Davis of St. Paul’s Child Care Center.
