YOUNGSTOWN

During Hunger Action Month in September, Feeding America and Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, a member of Feeding America’s nationwide network of 200 food banks, are urging people to take action in their communities on behalf of the 50 million Americans that struggle with hunger.

As part of Hunger Action Month, Second Harvest is asking Valley residents to join individuals, companies and organizations across the nation by wearing orange, the symbolic color of hunger, on “Go Orange Day,” Thursday, as a show of support for hunger relief and Feeding America food banks.

Second Harvest also is seeking companies, organizations and schools to conduct food drives and/or fundraisers throughout the month.
