Solace Center to move to Children Services Nov. 1

Published: Sun, October 27, 2013 @ 12:00 a.m.

Staff report

The Solace Center, Trumbull County’s safe exchange and visitation program, is moving to a new location at the Trumbull County Children Services Board, 2282 Reeves Road NE, effective Friday.

Since March, Solace Center has been operating out of Valley Counseling’s Children’s Office on Mahoning Avenue Northwest.

The program, which received start-up money from Trumbull County Family Court, has outgrown its current facility.

“The number of families our program serves has increased since our opening and we are in need of a larger visitation area,” said Laura Berzonski, Solace Center program manager.

The Solace Center provides supervised visitation and safe exchanges to families who have experienced some type of trauma such as abuse, neglect, violence, divorce, separation or custody issues that can cause stress or difficulties for children.

Business must be good! But I wonder how much in access/visitation grants this "non-profit" receives via the "Responsible Fatherhood Initiatives? Judge Rintala has created the Solace Center, a supervised visitation center.

Family Court Judge ASLEEP During CSA Custody Proceedings
Uploaded on Aug 6, 2011
During this custody case in Trumbull County, Ohio, the judge can clearly be seen sleeping during testimonies, and despite overwhelming evidence and admittance under oath by the father that he and the step-mother would shower naked with his innocent, six year old daughter, awards custody to the perpetrators. Immediately, they relocate her to California, thousands of miles from her mother, and all but deny them any communication. An absolute travesty by our legal system! A short transcript follows:

This includes several small segments showing him with his head ON THE DESK, not moving.
Sleeping with his head, resting on his hand.
And the Plaintiff's witness looking up at him and stating loud and clear, "He's Sleeping." during her testimony.
Then after a few seconds the magistrate wakes up with a groan.

In Courtroom: Magistrate Anthony M. Natale (working under Judge Richard L. James)
...In back left corner of room is the 2nd court appointed G.A.L., Attorney Marty D. Nosich,
Atty. Nosich was appointed twice, just a few months apart, by Mag. Anthony Natale in this same case.

The DVD Transcript was obtained directly from the Trumbull County Family Court.
They have since changed their policy and deny any open records request of the DVDs of public hearings.
