The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of the Mahoning Valley recently inducted the class of 2013 Hall of Fame. Teri Storey of Masonry Materials Plus and Jim Grantz of Komar Plumbing & Grantz Family Properties were honored with inductions.

The National Association of Home Builders also presented the 50 years of Service Awards to Joe Sylvester and Guy Damor, both past presidents of the Valley’s HBA and Hall of Fame inductees.

Cohen & Co., an accounting firm headquartered in Cleveland, has been named to the Weatherhead 100, a list designating the fastest-growing companies in Northeast Ohio. Compiled and managed by the Council of Smaller Enterprises, the award annually recognizes the hard work, commitment and innovation of successful companies in the region.

Sequoia Financial Group, a wealth-management firm with offices in Ohio and Florida, has hired Russell Moenich as the managing director of its asset management department. Moenich is an industry veteran who was most recently self-employed.

Cassidy Advertising & Consulting, of Warren, has hired Michael Canton as a copywriter and social-media administrator. Canton has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kent State University. He most recently worked in marketing in California.

Dr. Ira Taub has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric cardiologist. In his role with the Akron Children’s Heart Center, he will diagnose and treat infants, children, teens and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. Dr. Taub recently completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.

Jennifer Roller has been appointed as the president of The Raymond John Wean Foundation.

Roller was appointed after an extensive executive search. She has been with the foundation since 2007 and served most recently as vice president. The nonprofit serves communities in the Mahoning Valley.
