The Pittsburgh Filmmakers are hosting a screening of short films about the shale-gas drilling boom, and a panel discussion.
The event Tuesday evening will feature excerpts from Gas Rush Stories, a series of films by Kirsi Jansa, and a panel discussion on the challenges journalists face when reporting on the shale-gas industry.
Panelists include Jansa, Reid Frazier, the Marcellus Shale reporter for WESA/Allegheny Front, and Tim Hudson, a professor of communication at Point Park University. Chris Moore of radio station WQED is the moderator.
Tickets are $10, and the screenings begin at 7 p.m.
The Pittsburgh Filmmakers are at 477 Melwood Ave. in Pittsburgh.
