Teens enjoyed ice cream sundaes they made themselves at the Boardman library during the Sundaes for Teens event Oct. 16 for teens in grades 7-12.
Kayla Welton was visiting the library and saw a sign advertising the event. She said it sounded like fun, so she told her brother, Matthew, about it. The pair decided to return to the library for the event.
They like ice cream, they said.
“You’re in for a treat,” said librarian Madeline Dunchak. “It’s really good.”
Dunchak scooped vanilla ice cream into cups. Teens were then able to add various toppings, including chocolate syrup, strawberry topping, maraschino cherries, sprinkles and whip cream.
Caitlyn Stape was happy to see the chocolate syrup. She attended with her sister, Valerie.
Music by Lady Gaga played while the teens ate their ice cream sundaes and chatted. The teens discussed the types of music they like.
Dunchak told them about upcoming teen programs, as well.
