Fitch jumps to 3rd in AP poll

Thanks to Lakewood St. Edward’s loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius, the Austintown Fitch High football team moved up one spot in Division I from fourth to third, in the latest Associated Press poll.

Fitch (8-0) still trails fellow unbeatens Cincinnati Moeller and Cincinnati Colerain.

In Division III, Hubbard (8-0) remained third behind unbeatens Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary and Toledo Central Catholic, while Poland dropped from fifth to eight following its overtime loss to the Eagles.

Cardinal Mooney is 14th in Division IV.

South Range (8-0) moved from fourth to third in Division VI, with Kirtland and Columbus Bishop Ready, both unbeaten, claimed the top two spots.

Western Reserve (8-0) remained second in Division VII behind Maria Stein Marion Local. Wellsville (7-1) dropped from eighth to ninth in Division VII.

No area teams made the poll in Division II or Division V.
