Theft of $1,000 in baby formula from Austintown Walmart

AUSTINTOWN

Austintown police are investigating theft of $1,000 worth of baby formula from Walmart on Mahoning Avenue.

At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, three white women in their 20s entered the store and took a box from the Halloween candy section. One of them placed the box strategically into the cart and then they went to the baby formula. The women loaded the carts with the formula, according to a police report.

They were able to leave the store with most of the formula and fled in a black Ford Expedition with temporary tags and a shattered back window.

Video surveillance will be given to police.
