The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Randall Craig Fleischer, will showcase pianist Fei-Fei Dong at Powers Auditorium at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Dong, who was a 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition finalist last June, will perform the Grieg Piano Concerto with the orchestra at the concert.
Performing with orchestras since she was 13 years old, Dong has appeared with the Aspen Music Festival, Hong Kong, Juilliard, Shanxi and Shenzhen orchestras. Additionally, she has preformed in Alice Tully Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall and the Louvre Auditorium.
After the performance, the symphony will debut a new series titled “After Hours” about 10 p.m. in an effort to strengthen the orchestra’s relationship with the community and to acquaint visitors with the DeYor Preforming Arts Center.
Music will be performed in the Overture lobby by YSO musicians. Beverages, snacks and breakfast entrees from an “After Hours” menu created by Overture Executive Chef Jeffrey Chrystal will be available.
Tickets for the concert are available at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, by calling 330-744-0264, and online at youngstownsymphony.com.
