“Nature” (8 p.m., PBS): Members of the Sea Otter Research and Conservation program go to extreme (and humorous) lengths to prevent the orphaned critters from bonding with them in tonight’s season premiere, “Saving Otter 501.”
“Burton and Taylor” (9 p.m., BBC America): Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter portray the famous Hollywood couple during their 1983 onstage reunion.
“CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION” (10 p.m., CBS): Reality cooking show competitors accidentally eat human flesh during a taping.

Musical about life of ‘Rent’ composer
New Castle, Pa.
“Tick, Tick ... Boom!,” directed by Paula Ferguson, will open Friday in the Annex Theatre of the New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave., and run for three consecutive weekends. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. A free wine and cheese party will be offered to ticket holders at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The musical is the autobiographical tale of Jonathan Larson, the composer of “Rent” who was once a struggling young composer. It details the journey that led to his Broadway hit.

Fall choral concert
The Dana School of Music will present a choral concert titled “Mystery of Life: Birth to Death” at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Columba Cathedral. The YSU Dana Chorale, University Chorus, Symphonic Choir and the Dana Percussion Ensemble will perform, and Hae-Jong Lee will conduct. Kathy Miller will accompany, and Marissa Knaub is guest harpist. Admission is free, but a donation will be collected.

Gatsby dance theme
The Youngstown State University Ballroom Dance Club will present “Gatsby” on Oct. 24 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Kuzman’s, 1025 S. State St.
The evening will feature dancing to swing, Latin, ballroom and the Charleston.
