Campbell cops arrest man for indecency

Police arrested a Campbell man for public indecency and for exposing himself to a minor, and also for possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At about 8 p.m. Saturday, officers noticed a large group of people standing in front of a house in the 100 block of Reed Avenue, which immediately began to disperse upon spotting the police cruiser.

Police then watched a man — later identified as 39-year-old Edward R. Chacon, of the Reed Avenue residence — take something out of his pocket and throw it through the open doorway of the house, and also noticed the strong smell of marijuana.

While approaching the house to investigate, police noticed Chacon, who had walked to the sidewalk, pull down his pants and begin to urinate, exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl.

Chacon was arrested for public indecency and importuning, and also for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, after police found 4.9 grams of suspected marijuana in his pocket.

He will appear in Campbell Municipal Court on Tuesday.
