The new Stadium GM Superstore shows off $3M-plus expansion

After more than a year in the making, the Stadium GM Superstore officially opened its new 34,000-square-foot dealership with a VIP gala Thursday.
The dealership is the only one in the Mahoning Valley that carries all four General Motors brands, with Cadillac, Buick, GMC and Chevrolet in stock.
The expansion, which cost more than $3 million to complete, will allow the dealership to carry more inventory and provide customers with a higher level of service, said Michael Hudock, general manager.
The move comes as part of an overhaul announced last year by GM, requiring all its 3,400 dealers across the country to modernize their facilities.
Stadium GM went a step further and built a new dealership. The project started in February 2012 and was completed in June.
The showroom is now wide open, with a modern, sleek feel. Each brand is carefully separated to promote its unique qualities.
Service and maintenance will be performed more quickly. The dealership has doubled its service bays from 12 to 24 and added technicians.
Customers no longer will have to park their vehicles in front of the dealership and wait for service.
A new drive-in bay ensures Stadium’s employees are with a customer “the whole way through,” from the time they drop the car off until the time it leaves, said service assistant manager Jake Guy.
Stadium has added about a dozen employees for the expansion. Hudock said the dealership’s sales are up 30 percent this year.
