Canfield senior Dom Carano finished his high school golf career Wednesday with a round of 78 in the Division I district tournament at Pine Hills Golf Club.
Carano’s 78 left him three strokes behind the score needed to qualify for the state tournament. He was competing as an individual after finishing as the medalist runner-up last week in the sectional tournament at Windmill Lakes in Ravenna.
Lakewood St. Edward won the district title with a score of 303, followed by Walsh Jesuit (311), Cleveland St. Ignatius (317) and Twinsburg (320).
The top four teams and the top four individuals not on a qualifying team advance to state.
The individuals advancing are Ian Holt of Stow, 74, and a trio at 75, Jacob Appleby and Todd Lensman of Hoover, and Chris Clapper of GlenOak.
Luke Liberatore (71) of Walsh Jesuit was medalist and Wil Bethune (72) of St. Edward was runner-up.
