Woman charged with OVI after she drives off roadway

Austintown police arrested a North Jackson woman on Monday after she drove off of the roadway.

Cheryl Durig, 54, was seen swaying back and forth when police arrived at South Turner Road, where the accident took place, according to a police report.

During agreed to take field sobriety tests and failed all three.

During was arrested and taken to the Austintown Police Department, where police found multiple suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia on her.

A metal pipe with marijuana residue, a metal stem pipe, Clonazepam pills and an over-the-counter drug were all found.

Because Durig has previous drug charges, she was charged with felony drug possession, and felony having dangerous drugs.

She was issued a citation charging her with operating a vehicle while impaired and a summons charging her with having drug paraphernalia.

She will appear at 1 p.m. In Austintown court today.

Why didn't she just call Jerry Greene's Cab Company. Cabbie Assion could have driven her home.
