School cancels Halloween celebrations

LANSDALE, Pa. (AP) — Officials at a suburban Philadelphia elementary school have decided to cancel a Halloween parade and other Halloween celebrations, citing a ban on promoting religious beliefs.

WPVI-TV says parents received a letter from the principal at Inglewood Elementary School in Lansdale on Tuesday.

The letter said parents were told that holidays like Halloween are seen by some as secular and viewed by others as having religious overtones.

But it said school districts are barred from promoting religious beliefs, and while they can teach about religious and cultural practices, they cannot sponsor them.

Yeah, dressing up like Batman is a religious expression.

What kind of distorted lessons does this teach the students at that school?

No wonder kids are so screwed up today.
We've made them that way with our feel good, don't offend, political correctness.

Just a thought, but I hope the basic training programs of our military have not scummed to this weakness.

What school actually teaches the religious aspects of All Hallows Eve? It is a secular holiday where kids dress in costumes and do "trick-or-treat" and for adults to have have costume parties where they can get drunk and grope the girls in the Wonder Woman outfits!
