A 20-year-old woman said a man impersonating a police officer pulled her over on Interstate 680 early Sunday and groped her before she drove away.
Police were called to a home in the 100 block of Bouquet Avenue, where the woman told them she was driving on Interstate 680 south about 6:15 a.m. to pick up her mother from work when a vehicle that looked like an unmarked police car with a bubble siren on its dashboard pulled her over.
The woman said the person who got out of the car told her he was pulling her over for a broken taillight and told her to get out of her car. The woman got out of her car, and the man asked her if she had anything on her. When she said no, the man said he needed to search her.
The woman told police she asked for a female officer, but the man said he had performed the search before and that he examined her around her waist and chest. The woman told police she thought the man was creepy and that he was fondling her and she then jumped in her car, locked the doors and drove to her mother’s work.
The woman said the man who pulled her over appeared to be in his 50s, with short, black hair and weighed about 135 pounds. He wore a light blue shirt that had a shiny badge and a gun belt that had a large knife in it.
