Thirteen individuals will be honored on Oct. 18 during the 17th annual Ebony Lifeline All-Sports Banquet at Mount Carmel Social Hall in Youngstown. The honorees are: Dan Askew (football), Dr. Walter Betts (football), Steve Davis (coach), Cynthia Taylor-Davis (bowling), Howard Faison Jr. (karate), Phil Gonzalez (community service), Daniel Jones (baseball), Terri Latimore (bowling), Nellie McMcElroy (bowling), Kenny Manigault (football), Susan D. Morris (track), Davanzo Tate Sr. (karate) and Vince Suber (football, posthumously.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be The Rev. Tyrone Claybrook, executive director of Heart Reach Ministry and a pediatric occupational therapist, and serving as master of ceremonies will be former East High and Mount Union athlete Mark Brown.
Bob Thomas is banquet chairman, with Pat Traylor as communications coordinator and Fran Singleton as committee member.
