Hall of Fame: Marge J. Coblentz will be honored today when the the Youngstown-Salem USBC Women’s Bowling Association holds its 37th annual Bowling Hall of Fame Induction at Lucianno’s Cafe and Banquet Center. Annual awards and Secretary of the Year honors (Nadine Heaton) also will be presented. Categories include Division Award winners for games and series, high averages and 700 series.
Honoree: Coblentz has been a member of the Youngstown Women’s Bowling Association for 42 years. Her highest average was 172 and her highest three-game series was 653. Her best game was 258. For nine years, she was a YABA certified coach instructor at Boardman Lanes. She’s also bowled in 600 Club Tournaments, Youngstown Mixed Doubles Tournaments and the Youngstown Women’s Senior Tournament. She was director of the YWBA director for 17 years.
600 Club: The Youngstown-Salem 600 Club Tournament was held at West Side Lanes on Sept. 22. Winners were Carol Pennington, Dodie Baritell and Kaylyn Beiling. The next tournament will be a singles tournament at Bellwick Bowl on Oct. 20. Entry forms are available at the various lanes. The last tournament and luncheon will be held at Wedgewood Lanes on March 9. This will be a Scotch Doubles Bring a Friend Tournament. One bowler per team needs to be a member of the 600 Club.
