Woman gets one year probation for stealing from youth football

Published: Thu, October 3, 2013 @ 10:21 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who pleaded guilty to stealing about $1,800 from the Struthers Little Wildcats football organization received a year probation from Judge Lou D'Apolito in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today.

Lisa Farkas, 45, of Boardman, has paid back the money she was accused of taking, said Assistant Prosecutor Michael McBride. She was sentenced in a charge of theft.

Farkas said when the thefts took place she was going through a bad period in her life, as she got divorced and her father died within the same month.

She apologized to the organization and to the judge.
