2 killed when semi hits horse and buggy in New Wilmington

NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Two people were killed and a third seriously injured when a semi-tractor trailer hit a horse and buggy at 4:23 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Pulaski-Mercer and Angel roads.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and the injured person was transported by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown for treatment.

The crash is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police Mercer County Barracks. Officers cleared the scene at about 9 p.m. No additional details were available.
