Youngstown declares midnight snow emergency

YOUNGSTOWN

The city has declared a snow emergency effective at midnight tonight until further notice as they get ready to battle a major winter storm.

During a snow emergency parking is prohibited on all streets. Any vehicle violating the ban can be towed at the owner’s expense.

A snow emergency is declared when there more than four inches of snow expected. The parking ban allows for easier access for plows to remove snow and for emergency vehicles.

Why? They do a terrible job of plowing the streets anyway.

Anyone remember the last ban? I did, on the westside side streets idiots were parked all over the streets (as always and driveways empty and NO PARKING SIGNS?) and nobody was towed. Drove to northside just for kicks and same thing, go figure. Their not going to tow these idiots for fear of confrontation and actual work involved!!! Work that earns money to pay all city workers!!! I hope some change this time but I do not have much hope in Thugstown non-discipline policy.
