At area churches

Thanksgiving services are planned at Valley churches.

Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 State Route 46, New Waterford: The church will host the 4C’s Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Sunday on the theme “This is My Story” featuring testimonies from community members who will share details about why they have reason to be thankful this year. The 4C’s (Crestview Churches Community Concerns) is an outreach organization operated by the six churches in the Crestview School District and in addition to Abundant Life includes East Fairfield United Methodist, Middleton Friends Meeting, New Waterford United Methodist, New Waterford United Presbyterian and Zion Lutheran. A community choir will sing at the service.

Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, Warren: 9 a.m. Mass on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

Christian Bible Baptist Church, 2369 Oak Street Ext., Youngstown: Service planned at 10 a.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, with Pastor Keith A. Neal.

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard: Hubbard Christians in Action will conduct a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2050 Oakdale Drive NW, Warren: 7 p.m. Wednesday service with Grace United Methodist Church and Calvary Presbyterian Church.

First Baptist Church, 7 E. Kline St., Girard: Community service at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Betsy Schenk of Girard First United Methodist Church as guest speaker.

Free Methodist Community Church, 990 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg: 7 p.m. Wednesday with cookies in church cafe from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Volunteers needed for child care. Call the church at 330-542-3732.

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman: 7 p.m. Wednesday worship service.

Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road, Poland: Community worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday and Mass at 9 a.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 6 p.m. Sunday with music by the Good News Blenders and combined choir. Pastor Gary Mariano of The Gate in North Lima will deliver a message. Ministry project is an offering for South Range Council of Church and Community. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall. Those wishing to sing in the choir should arrive for practice at 5:25 p.m.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown: A service of Thanksgiving will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown: Thanksgiving Day Mass at 9 a.m.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman: A Thanksgiving service will be at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. A free Thanksgiving meal, open to the public, will be served ar 5 p.m. in fellowship hall.
