Published: Sat, November 23, 2013 @ 6:50 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

A truck has jacknifed on I-680 in Youngstown, and drivers should avoid using the road because of icy conditions, according to Youngstown police. A section near Glenwood Avenue was blocked at about 6:30 p.m.

Other areas that have had numerous accidents tonight are Interstate 80/76 and state Route 11, according to the Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Local drivers have also reported severely icy roadways leading into downtown Youngstown, including Fifth and Belmont avenues, and which worsened over bridges.

In Austintown, there are township roads. Then county roads. And state roads. One doesn't touch the other for fear of ticking off the other unions. Yep,blame it on good old Mahoning Valley mentality.
As a rule, freeways and turnpikes get top priority. We little guys get the leftovers.
Besides,if you have lived here all your life, you ought to know what snow and ice looks like, what to expect, and how to drive on it. If not stay home.
