CANFIELD

Eric Bable of Boardman has been named the conductor of the Canfield Community Concert Band.

Bable holds a master of music degree in conducting/euphonium performance from Youngstown State University and a bachelor’s degree in music education from Slippery Rock University.

Bable is the middle school music teacher in Crestview Local Schools, and the assistant director of the high school marching band. He previously was the director of bands and choirs at McDonald schools, and assistant band director at Columbiana and Leetonia schools.

A euphonium player, Bable is an active chamber musician. In February, he became the first euphonium player to win the Dana Young Artist Concerto/Aria Competition.

Bable has been heard on NPR Radio (WQED) in Pittsburgh as a member of the Slippery Rock tuba-euphonium quartet. He has a private studio of instrumental students.
