Boardman business out $500 after missing check cashed

BOARDMAN —A Boardman business is out $500 after someone cashed a business check.

The owner of Beith and Niro, LLC. of Midwood Circle told police on Oct. 21 checks were ordered for the business. When the box of checks arrived at the business, the box appeared to be damaged, according to a police report.

The post office stated that the box was damaged while in their possession. The owner only received the top cover of the box. The owner did not receive any of the checks.

The owner discovered one of the checks was cashed on Oct. 28 for $500.

Boardman police are investigating the incident.
