On Oct. 5, the Canfield Cross Country teams participated in two invitational meets. At the Stow invitational the girl’s team finished 14th in a 16-team field. The top five teams were Hudson (37), Glenoak (76), Mentor (86), Walsh Jesuit (92) and Brecksville (116).
Placing for Canfield were Amy Goddard (65th), Natalie Schoenfeld (72nd), Victoria Bosze (80th), Sara Wyand (97th), Rosie Bresson (99th), Svetlana Lefoer (102nd) and Pragi Patel (103rd).
A total of 115 runners finished the race. The boy’s team finished 14th in an 18-team field. The top five teams were Mentor (29th), Glenoak (42nd), Boardman (95th), Woodridge (119th) and Chardon (130th). Placing for Canfield were matt Coalmer (54th), Tyler Tarashawty (61st), Tim Fernstrom (88th), Matt Lawson (91st), Ben Targove (94th), Rajan Solanki (99th) and Kyle Anderson (102nd). A total of 121 runners finished the race.
The balance of the team travelled to participate in the Legends Invitational at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. The girl’s team placed fifth in a seven-team field. The top five teams were Brunswick (26), St Joseph Academy (62), Fitch (89), Shaker Heights (94) and Canfield (109). Placing for Canfield were Devin Foley (11th,) Raquel Markulin (16th), Jenny McClune (25th), Anna Luongo (26th), Isabelle Moyer (31st) and Rachel Rostek (36th).
The boy’s team placed first in a 12 team field. The top five teams were Canfield-42, Mt Lebanon-45, Fitch-99, Brunswick-105 and Eastlake-165. Placing for Canfield were Alec Kennedy (second), Tyler Kennedy (fifth), Rollin Bresson (sixth), Chase Kern (ninth), Mack Mettille (15th) and Bryan Kristan (20th).
Runners who established new personal best times over the 3.1 mile distance in the above races were Rosie Bresson, Devin Foley, Svetlana Lefoer, Raquel Markulin, Jenny McClune, Isabelle Moyer, Natalie Schoenfeld, Ashley Smith, Sarah Wyand, Matt Coalmer, Stephen Gant, Alec Kennedy, Tyler Kennedy, Matt Lawson, Mack Mettille, Tyler Napolitano, Victor Stefanides, Dan Sylak, Tyler Tarashawty, Ben Targove and Ben Vitek.
