The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; no containers are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance. This is the last sale of the season.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-in orders are welcome. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
VFW Post 2799 will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the ladies auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. On the menu are eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.
Mount Carmel Society of Niles is taking orders for pizza and calzones at 330-652-2811. Red pizzas cost $6 each, and calzones cost $10 each. Calzone varieties are potato, spinach or a combination of the two. The deadline to order is 7 p.m. June 2; pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, in the education center.
Southington United Methodist Church, routes 305 and 534 in Southington, will sell chicken dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. June 5. The menu includes a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and homemade desserts. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for chicken tenders meals for children 4 through 10 and free for kids 3 and under. Carryouts will be available. St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will sell beef tips and noodles dinners to go from 3 p.m. until sold out June 6. There is no need to get out of your car nor to preorder. Dinners will cost $8. The meals include green beans, a roll and a piece of cake.
