AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS

Hill, Barth & King, an accounting firm headquartered in Boardman, has been named one of the “Best Employers in Ohio” by the Ohio State Council of Society for Human Resource Management and the Best Companies Group. This is the fourth-consecutive year, and the sixth time in seven years that HbK has been recognized with the award. The statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Ohio, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2013 Best Employers in Ohio list is made up of 38 companies from various industries, and HbK has been named one of those top 38.

Jeff Vrabel Sr., operations manager at Transit Service Inc. in Youngstown, recently received the 2013 William Rice Award of Excellence for Pupil Transportation Supervisor of the Year. The award, in its 23rd year, is presented by the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation. The award recognizes supervisors who exhibit outstanding leadership and professional conduct in the school transportation field.

Julie Needs has been named the Salem branch manager at The Home Savings and Loan Co. Needs has nearly 20 years of banking experience, and she joined Home Savings in 2001. Before accepting her new position, she served as the retail manager for the Lisbon office, the sales and service manager for the Beaver office and as a loan originator.

Amanda Congemi has been named the Columbiana branch manager at The Home Savings and Loan Co. Congemi has more than 20 years of banking experience. She joined Home Savings in 1992. Before accepting her new position, she served as the retail manager for the Columbiana office, customer-service supervisor at the Poland office, assistant head teller at the Newport Glen office and customer-service representative at the Boardman office.

Tamara L. Welker has been promoted to market manager at the First National Bank of Pennsylvania. She will provide oversight of sales, service and operations for 15 branches in Trumbull County and Mercer, Lawrence and Butler counties in Pennsylvania. Welker has been with F.N.B. for 12 years, and she has more than 25 years of industry experience.

Victor Garcia has joined Real Living Volpini Realty Group as a Realtor. Garcia has more than seven years of industry experience. He earned his real-estate license through Hondros College. Garcia is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Ohio Association of Realtors and the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors. He also has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University.

transportation

Colin McBane has joined the MidWest Trumco Insurance Agency. He is a lifelong resident of Trumbull County and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University. Before joining the agency, he worked for seven years as a pharmaceutical-sales representative and spent 12 years in the commercial printing industry.
