Home Savings foundation makes contribution to YSU
The Home Savings Charitable Foundation will present three checks to Youngstown State University today.
At 9 a.m., the Home Savings and Loan Charitable Foundation will make the presentations totaling $10,300 at the Home Savings and Loan Branch at YSU’s Kilcawley Center.
The first is a $5,000 check for the Summer Bridge Program, a multicultural student-retention program designed to help students become more familiar with the academic and social experiences most often encountered by first-year students.
The second is a $5,000 check for the Beeghly College of Education Boot Camp, a learning community for students of color within the Beeghly College of Education. The camp is designed to retain the students in the Teacher Education Program so that they are able to produce minority educators in the field.
The last is a $300 check to support the NEO Regional Scholastic Art Exhibition, which provides young area artists, grades seven through 12, regional recognition and opportunities to compete nationally for scholarships and awards.
With current assets of $1.8 billion, Home Savings operates 33 banking offices and eight loan-production offices throughout Ohio and western Pennsylvania, employing about 500 people.
