Boardman meth suspects arraigned

Staff report

BOARDMAN

The four people police say were caught with chemicals used to make methamphetamine over the weekend were arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Court.

Arraigned for the felony charge of possession of chemicals used in the manufacturing of a Schedule 1 drug were Donny Thompson, 22, of Fenton Street in Niles; Joshua Curry, 20, of Briggs Road in Leavittsburg; Anthony Smith, 25, of Gillmer Road in Leavittsburg; and Phylicia Chalker, 22, of Robert Street in Vienna.

Thompson also was arraigned on a separate driving-under-suspension charge.

They did not enter pleas to the felony, and all have a bond of $8,000 and are due back in court May 21 except for Thompson, who has an additional $1,500 bond because of the driving- under-suspension charge.

The four were in a car pulled over by police about 2 a.m. Saturday on Boadman-Canfield Road near Hitchcock Road. Police said they found several ingredients in their car used to make methamphetamine.
