KIRTLAND — Clock and watch collectors from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Canada will display their private collections at the Regional Clock and Watch Show from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lakeland Community College, 7700 Clocktower Drive.
Visitors can find rare and preserved clocks and watches, antique timepieces, parts, tools, books and supplies.
Author Robert Woodbridge Briggs of Kentucky will share how 1800s worldwide opera sensation Adelina Patti influenced the maker of highly collectible “Opera Series Clocks.” He will bring his collection of 40 rare clocks, antique lithographs of the opera stars they were named after, and copies of his recently released book, “E.N. Welch: Tribute to the Opera 1868-1893.”
Don Barrett, owner of City Bank Antiques of Kent, will impersonate Webb C. Ball, Cleveland inventor of synchronized watches.
Experienced collectors will educate visitors how to repair and restore clocks and watches and polish brass. Educational seminars and the author’s lecture start at 10:30 a.m. Admission is $5. Educational sessions are free.
