Staff report

FARRELL, Pa.

Police arrested a Hermitage man Tuesday after a man was shot to death about 11:20 p.m. Monday on Emerson Avenue.

Miguel J. Huey, 26, of 200 Orange Drive, faces charges of criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to robbery and robbery after Andrew T. Walko, 41, was found shot outside of his 824 Emerson Ave. home.

A news release from Riley Smoot, chief of Southwest Mercer County Regional Police, said Huey is one of three men who were inside the home of Walko’s stepson, which is across the street from Walko’s home.

Police were called to the street for a report of gunfire, and they found Walko. He was taken to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Farrell and pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Huey is in the Mercer County Jail pending his arraignment.

Smoot did not return messages seeking further comment.
