The city will host its 126th annual fair next week.
According to a press release from the Area Chamber of Commerce, the event will take place on Market Street after being located at a nearby side street for 14 years. The fair times are 5 to 11 p.m. May 23 and 24, 1 to 11 p.m. May 25, and 1 to 8 p.m. May 26.
Bates Amusements, which also provides entertainment and rides for the Canfield Fair, is providing games and amusement rides, including a 60-foot-tall ferris wheel, one of only three manufactured in the United States, the release said.
The East Palestine Fair began in 1887 at the Fairgrounds, now the Village Park. American Legion Post 31 brought the fair to Market Street in 1935. It then was moved to a side street due to construction in 1999.
The release said the Area Chamber of Commerce has worked closely with the American Legion to ensure the nostalgia of the past remains.
