2 sentenced to life in slaying of Ohio gym owner

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A judge in northwest Ohio has sentenced two men to life in prison for the robbery and murder of a gym owner.

The Blade newspaper of Toledo reports the men were sentenced Tuesday for the Nov. 19 fatal shooting of 57-year-old Joseph Lengel Jr. outside the gym he owned in south Toledo.

Thirty-two-year-old Jason Kuhns pleaded guilty to murder last month. He’ll be eligible for parole in 15 years. Nineteen-year-old Devonte Harris pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

Two defendants who prosecutors said were involved in planning the attack were each sentenced to 15 years in prison last month. A fifth suspect remains at large.
