Farrell police investigate homicide

FARRELL, Pa. — Southwest Mercer County Regional Police say a man was shot to death about 11:20 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Emerson Ave.

A news release today from the department says Andrew T. Walko, 44, of 824 Emerson Ave., was shot outside his home. He was taken to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center here and was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Chief Riley Smoot said in the release officers found Walko after responding to a call for gunfire. He said there are no suspects, and police are searching for a motive.
