The Youngstown Gay Pride Parade steps off at noon June 8 at Woodlawn Avenue near downtown Youngstown.

It will proceed to Market Street and cross the bridge to Central Square.

The theme of the parade is “Embracing Diversity,” which encourages showing appreciation and respect for the differences among people. Anyone is invited to march in the parade, including military personnel and local business representatives.

The parade is the highlight of the Fifth Annual Youngstown Gay Pride Festival downtown June 7 and 8.

Entertainers are needed for both days of the festival. Clowns and other kid-friendly acts are welcome.

Volunteers, marchers, and performers can go to prideyoungstown.org for more information or to pledge support. For more information, call 330-799-1240.
