Poland 7, Springfield 1

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Chris Elliott had a triple, a single and two runs batted in and Poland (11-10) broke open a game that was 1-1 through four innings. Cody Pitzo doubled and singled for the Tigers (14-7). Three Poland pitchers scattered four hits and a walk.

Canfield 8, Ursuline 6

CANFIELD

Tom Ciccolelli had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs for Canfield, which took a 6-0 lead before Ursuline tied it in the top of the fifth. Kyle Nagy had two hits and an RBI and Edmond Pilolli doubled home two runs for the Cardinals, who scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to win it. Joel Hake, Sam Donko, Mike Montalbano, and Matt Lacko had all two hits for Ursuline (17-2), which has lost two straight.

Cardinal Mooney 9, NDCL 1

CHARDON

Denver Martin hit a double and two singles and drove in three runs to lead the Mooney (16-6) attack which totaled 16 hits. Three Cardinal pitchers limited the Lions (12-10) to five hits.

Hubbard 18, East 1

HUBBARD

Brett Morgan and Brandon Harb both had three hits and two runs batted in, and Tyler Taafe tripled, singled and drove in two runs to lead the Hubbard (6-15) offense. Antonio Dellimuti limited East (2-12) to two hits and three walks and struck out six.

Crestview 5, Girard 4,

NEW WATERFORD

Evan Nentwick won the game with a squeeze bunt in the bottom of the eighth. Derek Bable and Austin Eskra combined on the hill for the Rebels (17-7). Krajcirik had a double and two RBI for Girard.

Columbiana 6, United 3

COLUMBIANA

A three-run bottom of the sixth won the contest for the Clippers (7-11). Drew Cyrus drove in two runs for Columbiana and Matt Salmen had two hits for the Golden Eagles (2-10).

Western Reserve 12, Lisbon 2

BERLIN CENTER

Evan Nesbitt singled, hit an inside-the-park homer and drove in three runs and John Clegg got the mound win and had two hits and three RBIs for Reserve (13-7), which took a 10-0 lead after three innings. Eric Walker tripled and drove in a run for Lisbon.

Mathews 7, Ledgemont 2

Andy Morgan and Matt Harries each had two hits and two RBIs for Mathews (15-5, 12-3 Northeastern Athletic Conference) and Alex Bagaglia had two hits.

Badger 5, Bristol 0

BRISTOLVILLE

Michael Chachko allowed just four hits and Jared Miekle had a double and a single to lead Badger (10-10, 7-7 NAC). Seth Tomasiak struck out five for Bristol (7-9, 7-8).

Niles 4, Howland 1

NILES

Ryan Ifft drove in two runs and Jake Foster scattered five hits and struck out nine in a complete-game victory for the Red Dragons. Tyler Wiery and Justin Lopes each had a single and double for Niles.

ALLIANCE

Tony Rupert had three hits and the Dukes (10-15, 4-8 NBC) scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to edge the Warriors (10-13, 6-6). West Branch had scored four times in the top of the seventh to erase a 5-1 deficit. Chipper Tuck, Jacob Clayton and Dylan Greenwalt each had two hits for the Warriors. Clayton had two RBIs.
