Fitch track teams defeat Howland
The Fitch girls track team defeated Howland 92-44 on April 30.
Carissa Jenkins led the Falcons with her first-place finishes in the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run. Lauren Bower took first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.7. In the 100-meter dash, Fitch’s Ebony Davis placed first with a time of 12.4. Amanda Choma won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.2. In the 300-meter hurdles Jayme Ritchie raced to first with a time of 49.5.
Fitch’s 4x800-meter relay, 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relays all took first place.
In the field portion of the meet, Jasmine Washington won the shot put and Gabby Figueroa took first in the discus. Paige Henley and Kayla Bailey took first in the long jump and pole vault, respectively.
The Fitch boys track team defeated Howland 87-50. Leading the Falcons was Sam Ortz with his first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles and the discus throw. Another top performer for Fitch was Billy Price, winning the shot put and discus throws.
Ty’Reese Anderson took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.7. In the 400-meter dash, Darrin Hall raced to victory with a time of 41.2. ZacK Pasquale took the win in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.2. In the 400-meter dash, Darrin Hall took first with a time of 54.7, while Nathan Bowlen took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.5 Patrick Ferguson won the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:21.4.
Fitch’s 4x200 relay, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay all took first place. In the pole vault, Dylan Latone took first.
